Event Description Highlights Ensuring high level of safety throughout the trek. Using of best quality equipment for the trek. Hardware used is from Petzl. Which is mainly used by the world famous mountaineers to Everest and other high altitude expeditions. Camping gear used is imported from Europe, America, etc. from Husky, Quechua, Eureka, etc. Load ferrying assistance will be provided to the trekkers or hikers, if required. Extra ponies in case of any emergency assistance required by the trekkers. Sleeping gear will be highly comfortable even in minus 15 degree. Professional cooks to cook food for trekkers during course of trek. Transportation from Srinagar to Srinagar will be provided complimentary in AC vehicles. Trekking permits and forest camping charges will be borne by us. Our expertise is recognized and recommended by His Excellency the German Ambassador to India. Detailed Itinerary: Day 1: We pick you up post arrival in Srinagar, later drive to Naranag 2 hour drive to base camp, sightseeing (Ancient Temples of Shivism) and night stay. An acclimatization walk of three kilometres till Dhumail Valley, which has many beauties to offer like twin streams flowing from an opposite direction and forms the Wangat river, deep pine forests and hundreds of bird species. Day 2 Naranag to Trunkhol Meadow (07 km):- We start in the morning through Pine forests of Buthshree A three hours ascend) and then traverse through Midone top to enter the famous Meadow called Trunkhol and will stay for a night. From the camp we will get a best northern view of Mount Harmukh. Day 3 Trunkhol Meadow to Gangbal Valley (05 km):- After breakfast we trek on Mild gradient to reach the first Alpine Lake of trek Nandansar Lake, which lies on the foot of Mount Harmukh. The glacial water drains from Gangbal Lake and Northern glaciers of Mount Harmukh then enters in Nandansar Lake. A half hour more hike through meadow lead us to Gangbal Valley. We establish a night camp at pristine shore of Kashmir's largest Alpine Lake Which is also the main source to Wangat Stream and a tributary to River Sind. Day 4 Gangbal Valley to Satsar Valley (08km):- After breakfast we start ascend to Zajibbal Pass, which will take three to four hours to reach its summit. ZajbalPaas bisects Gangbal valley and Satsar valley, the highest point of entire trek, then a mild descend of two hours will take us to Satsar Valley. The Valley has seven small alpine lakes thus lending it the name Satsar. We shall camp here for the night. Day 5 Satsar Valley to Gadsar Valley (11 km ):- Fascinating trek though lush green meadows beautified by alpine flowers .This location is famous for long undulating meadows and sinking waters and a large Alpine Lake (Gadsar Lake). The camp site is besides Gadsar Lake. Day 6: Gadsar Valley to Kishensar Valley (11 km ) :-To reach the Kishensar Valley trekkers get an opportunity to cross the Gadsar Pass where we can have an overview of peaks across LOC and an aerial view for both Valleys ( Gadsar Valley and Kishensar Valley). The valley is famous for its twin large Alpine Lakes (Kishensar and Vishensar Lakes) Camping at Kishensar Valley gives every trekker or nature lover a unique feeling as it is the main source of Kishenganga River which drains through Gurez Valley. Day 7: Kishensar Valley to Nichnai/Table Top (11km):-A mild gradient till Nichnai Pass and then descend through a pristine valley of wild alpine flowers of Nichnai Valley. We will camp here for night. Day 8: Nichnai to Sonamarg (09 km) we start descend through Pine and Burj forests of Table Top and trekkers get an opportunity to have an aerial view of Thajiwas Mountain range and Bear Valley. Harihar fort appears to be rectangular in shape from its base village. It is built on a triangular prism of rock. Its three faces and two edges are absolutely vertical (90 degrees). The third edge towards the west is inclined at an angle of 75 degrees. A one metre wide rocky staircase with niches in it is carved out for ascending & descending the fort. There are 117 steps in all. After you climb the first rocky staircase (main entrance) we walk thru below a overhang with a sheer drop. Again one has to climb a set of steep stairs (with niches), then pass thru a staircase inside the rock (like Peth-kothligad fort) and then reach the top of the fort. The view from the top is excellent. After climbing these steps, we get up to the entrance door. The fort has got a tapering plateau with a raised level in the middle. There is a small temple of Lord Hanuman and Lord Shiva on the plateau. A small pond is there in front of this temple. Water from this pond can be used for drinking. Making headway from here we come across a palace having two rooms in it. 10 to 12 persons can be accommodated in this palace. One of the vertical drops of the fort facing the Nirgudpada village is called 'Scottish kada', perhaps because it was climbed for the first time in November 1986 by Doug Scott, the legendary Himalayan mountaineer & took him two days to do the climb. This cliff is about 170 meters in height. Travel up to Kasara by local train approx. timings recommended. Meet us at the gate of Sanjay Gandhi National Park and our naturalist will guide you all the way to the top with some interesting information about the forest. He understands bird calls easily, thanks to his sharp ear so if you enjoy looking at these lovely winged beings, this trail is for you. Your breakfast spot is at Kanheri hills, where you can see the city from afar, and the highest point is where you will get lunch.
